    Come to the Cabaret!

    The unique gDA Cabaret will take place on the last Friday night of every month here at the Borough Halls. With a traditional cabaret setting featuring table service for drinks and ringside seats, plus a House Band and Compère, it’s a great night out and a genuinely sociable way to enjoy dance in performance.

Flamenco - Beginners

with La Joaquina

This class introduces and develops all elements of Flamenco. It’s improvised quality of song, guitar and dance, all united by common rhythmic structures. Flamenco is humanity! Classes consist of footwork, arms and marking. An enjoyable class structured through rhythm.

There is live accompaniment for this class from Chris Mullet.

La Joaquina

La Joaquina originally trained as a contemporary dancer and worked in London and New York. She later retrained as a flamenco dancer. She is now Director with Cris Mullett of Flamenco Express, a company of dancers and musicians touring the U.K. and Europe. La Joaquina lists her influences and those she has worked / trained with as including Merce Cunningham, Jean Pierre Perrault, Carmen Cortez, La Tati and Laverne Meyer.
